This is just to apologize (Parody)

Authors Note: I made a parody to the parody to This is just to say, by William Carlos Williams.

This is just to apologize
Jackie Henderson

I have sprayed
Your perfume
That was on
The shelf

And witch
You probably
Didn’t want
To smell.

Forgive me
It smelled delicious
So pleasant
And so calming

Without you (Figurative Language)

Without you.
David Guetta

Authors Note: I connected Figurative Language to a poem/song By David Guetta in an essay form.

Without You.
David Guetta

I wont run, I wont fly
I will never make it by,
Without you

I can't look, I'm so blind
I lost my heart, I lost my mind
Without you,

I am lost, I am vain,
I will never be the same
Without you.

Analysis-

Without You, By David Guetta is such a powerful song with meaning and language.  David showed how Figurative Language ads to this poem by the type of personification and hyperbole's he used. He connected his thoughts by writing a poem to this other person that he has strong feelings for.

As the author says "I wont run, I wont fly, I will never make it by, without you" He shows that he needs this one specific person to guide him through life.  Just by reading these three stanzas you can tell that his analysis shows personification because he is directing this to one other person.

Throughout the poem the author shows an amount of hyperbole's.  For instance: "I can't look, I'm so blind, I lost my heart, I lost my mind, without you".  The author isn't going to lose his eyesight, he is using sarcasm and hyperbole's to show his figurative language and caring voice.

In conclusion, there are many ways that figurative language shows throughout this poem. The author has his own way of showing and connecting himself to others, because most people understand the message that he is trying to get through.

Ty's Thoughts

Authors note: This is an point of view piece on the novel Stolen.

In the Beginning of the the Book Stolen, by Lucy Christopher, most people can immediately tell that its from the main character, Gemma’s point of view. She formed her thoughts by keeping and updating a diary. She would show her hatred towards the other main character, Ty. Ty drugged and kidnaped Gemma, so automatically Gemma thought Ty was Ignorant, rude, and disrespectful. Has Gemma ever thought about Ty’s feelings and how he might have felt about the whole situation?

Ty had a sad childhood. He didn’t grow up in the right environment. He was involved with drug addicts, alcoholics, and bad influences. So to him, drugging, kidnapping, and raping wasnt all that bad. Ty felt that if he could feel love, it would make up for his horrable childhood.

Gemma thought that Ty I was a horrible person. She cannot bear to stand him. As she wrote in her diary, she thoroughly explained how rude he was to her, how he hurt her, and how he took things from her that she wanted to save for when she was in love with someone. Ty gave her horrable memories that will haunt her for the rest of her life.

Ty needs to realize that forcing love isn't going to make up for your childhood, love is with two people, not one. As the conclusion of Ty's horrible mistake, he soon knows that all Gemma wants is to be let go and back to her family. Ty soon get psychological help and realizes that that's all he needed.

Compare and contrast

Authors Note: I wrote an Compare and contrast on two characters very alike.

I wonder why in so many different novels there are people that are alike.  For Instance; Cole, From Touching Spirit Bear, and Ty from Stolen are very alike.  They like to be bad humans and rebels, but is that a really good way to get through life?  Life lesson; Listen to yourself and not what society makes you.

Cole had a very Rough life; He grew up by not being raised that good. For example; Cole beat up an innocent boy named Peter.  He really had no idea to do it.  Just wanted to be bad. Ty for instance; He didn’t have that great of a childhood so he always had this sadness inside of his brain that caused him to force love. For example; He met this girl named Gemma and he drugged her, kidnapped her, and stole her from her country. He forced her to love him; even though she refused,  he would make her love him.  These humans  compare themselves to being bad and dangerous.

As I reached the middle of these books I noticed that there was something that caused Ty and Cole to become better people and free themselves.  When Cole beat up peter his Punishment was that he was shipped to an island.  On that island he Came upon a Mythological Creature, A spirit Bear.  This bear beat him up.  He was in for a real punishment.  Ty, he was punished by Gemma running away and getting back to her own country.  These things actually show these characters that there is a better thing in life than doing the wrong choice.  These characters contrast themselves by getting hurt. They got hurt in different ways but both of them still got hurt.

As I reached the ending of these books I realized that everybody learns something new.  Ty learned to search for love and not force it. And Cole learned to be nicer to people.  Both of these people are now considered real humans. Even thought they made mistakes it is still possible to go in the right path.

What my Mother Doesn't Know

Authors note: I wrote a Compare and contrast piece on What my Mother Doesn't Know.
Many novels show differences and similarities between characters and settings but the novel What My Mother Doesn't Know, by Sonya Sones is by far the most miraculous book I've read of 2012.  Sophie is a freshman in high school who’s struggling with all the crushes that come along the way of education. Sophie’s mom on the other hand is a very formal and religious, she would never have time to have a high school crush. Throughout the novel she is training Sophie that an education is more important than having a relationship, Sophie thinks different, she thinks she can do both and be on top of the honor roll, but I think Sophie should listen to her mom, because everybody says “Older is wiser”.

There is a distinctive plot for every setting, for example; When Sophie gets into a car with her best friend and meets this boy named Dylan, and she instantly falls in love with his eyes. She actually feels that this muscular, hansom, tall boy would be a good boyfriend.  As soon as Sophie brings him home so Sophie’s mother can approve him, she doesn't. Sophie doesn't get why her and her mom are so very different with boy problems.

Therefore most settings  revolve around the characters and their needs and thoughts.  For example; when Sophie meets Dylan the mood was soft and sweet.  When Sophie is in trouble with her Mother, the setting dooming and scary.  These settings actually cause the readers to think differently about the characters were reading about.

All though, I am sticking to my first impression on what I thought about Sophie, and how she needs to relax with her temper a little, and leave the boys behind. Education is more important than a boyfriend in High school.  The  most important reason why Sophie needs to stay on track, is because she’s young.

Authors note: I wrote this just based of a short love story.
It’s mid- afternoon, and the high school students are ready to burst the doors open, to trample into their cars, and go to the Friday night party.  Streaming skies, bright guys, and the best thing of all is to love and enjoy your life while you’re young, wild, and free!  Most people might find a party like this obnoxious, but these talented teenagers think of it as a front cover to a new fresh novel especially Georgia.

Love is a powerful gift; don’t waste it all on one guy.  Georgia has had a crush on Robbie for two years.  I say get over it, it won’t work if you don’t have anything in common but if you have true feelings that fill up your heart then you should follow those thoughts!  As Georgia makes her way through all the jealous girls she thinks life might change from being shy and insecure to dark and does not care what people think of her.  She will follow her heart of witch choice to choose.

Ugh! I can’t even picture living how Georgia lives!  Being a teenager and living how an adult lives.  I would like to enjoy my teen years and not waste them all trying to impress one boy.  Georgia can do better than a guy that doesn't want her for her personality.
